Quit smoking advice

Giving quit smoking advice is trickier than picking penny stocks. How our body and mind react to a set of quit smoking program can vary greatly because there are so many variables. Bearing that in mind, it is important to understand that smoking can be as addictive as heroin or cocaine for some people. It is an addiction like any other with physical and psychological components. Choosing how to quit smoking is almost as important as your will to quit smoking. It often takes a person 2 or even 3 tries to kick the habit for good. Many will try to quit cold turkey on their first try. They fail because of the substance known as nicotine in cigarettes. It acts as stimulant in humans and the end result is dependency for the substance, becoming an addiction.

Second time around smokers will usually turn to stop smoking products readily available at local pharmacies, such as Nicotine Gum and Nicotine Patch. It is important to understand that the products help curb craving for nicotine, it does not completely eliminate the craving.

Do not set yourself up to failure. But do understand that nicotine addiction is one of the hardest addictions to break. There is a difference in understanding that it may take multiple tries as opposed to predicting that you will fail many times over before you get it right.

For many former smokers, to quit smoking is an ongoing fight. Smoking is a social habit as much as is a physical habit. Because of the social aspect of smoking, smokers commonly have friends who smoke. There is also a bond among smokers, like striking a conversation with a lit cigarette creating an instant common ground for them. For some smokers, making phone calls automatically have them light one up. For some, is as simple routine as a stogie after a meal, many smokers will affirm it’s the most satisfying.

There isn’t a single correct way to quit smoking. But you’ll be glad to know there are many different solutions. Remember, you are the answer to the question. Choosing to stay best informed will have you well armed to combat your nicotine dependency.
